What Service is Right for Me?
Consulting
A consultant usually works for a consultancy firm or is self-employed, engages with
multiple and changing clients and is usually a high-level expert and/or professional
in a specific field and has a wide knowledge of the subject matter.
By retaining consultants, clients gain access to deep levels of expertise that would
not be easily attained with only in-house employees who have not been exposed
to the broad spectrum of industries and situations that the consultant has had the
privelege of experiencing. There is the also the added bonus that the consultant's
expertise can be accessed on an as-needed pay basis.
Often a consultant provides expertise to clients who require a particular type of
knowledge or service for a specific period of time, thus providing an economy to
the client. In other situations, companies implementing a major project may need
additional experienced staff to assist with increased work during that period.
Staffing
Staffing is the service an agency provides for a client/business in which an agency
employee works temporally for the client and he/she is not part of the permanent
or full-time workforce commonly referred to as a part-time worker.
Staffing is the most fundamental and critical driver of organizational performance.
In the simplest sense, staffing is putting people to work. It begins with workforce
design and includes recruiting, assessment, development, workforce planning, and
retention. And although it may involve tens of thousands, staffing recognizes the
importance of every single person: the individual worker is the ultimate performer.
Recruiting
Recruitment is the process of finding the right people for the right position which
includes researching, testing, evaluating and selecting potential candidates for
a vacant position in a organization. Most likely the company that recruits will
use a recruitment agency like Vestigo who will present to the company candidates
which are right for the position.
